Question:
I have 1995 Chevy Cavalier. It has about 180,000 miles on it.
I had a couple of friends look at it (not mechanics). They seem to think it is either the starter or the timing chain. I would like to know some ballpark numbers about how much it would cost in parts in labor if I had a new starter or timing chain put in.
I would just like to have a general idea of what it would cost to have either done. I live in a fairly rural area so the place I would take it to would be a reglar body shop not a chain or a real fancy one. I just don't want to be taken. I don't mind paying a reasonable price so Thank You for any advice.

What's a good website to find performance parts for my 2000 honda civic si?
Neither should be expensive or difficult,if it's the starter a used one can be obtained for a few bucks and are generally simple to replace.Timing chains are rare, usually a belt is required anew one is a must though but you can buy pattern parts from a motor store, but fitting must be done correctly otherwise your engine could be destroyed.
But you dont say what the symptons are?
Which is a better car? A Dodge Nitro SLT or a Toyota Tacoma X-tra Cab Prerunner V6?

u can have a starter rebuild for cheap, and easy to take off and put on. timing belt on front wheel drive isn't.a few hundred bucks..Does anyone know of a tint that matches the factory mirror tint of a 96' explorer?
Hi,I think you should take it to a shop & have a real mechanic look at it.Could be something simple rather than throwing parts at it.Good luckMore Questions & Answers ...
