Followup to the spark plug blowout issue.?

Question:
Moe: Thanks for the info in your response. Yes I did buy the extended warranty. But it's not a lubricated part of the engine, so not covered. Had I know of the problem before it happened to me I might have updated the plugs or more likely not bought the truck at all. All of my work was done by Ford. Mostly at the same dealer. The head was done in Michigan because that is where I was at the time it blew. But besides that my dealer has done over $6000 in repairs in the last 14 months. I've contacted 5 different Ford dealers. All say it is a design flaw, but can't say anything "on the record" for obvious reasons. I got as high in the Ford chain ans Michael O'Brien marketing manager for the Expedition. His response after a few days of "checking into it" was "sorry we can't help you.". No reason just that response. So again thanks for your time.

What is the miles per gallon rating on a 2006 Ford Taurus With 3.0 Litre V6 motor?

ok ill give you somemore info. 4.6/5.4 heads have 4 threads machined in them. the origanial plugs were not threaded up the intire body, the plugs new style plugs have more threads to help stop the issue. Now I have never done any reaserch on metal expansion rates but have often wonder if the aluminum is expanding and contracting more the spark plug. One of the things that makes me wonder about this is that most but not all the time #7 is the one that pops. #7 is the cyclinder right under the evap case.
None the less Ford has an obligation to prove that the fault was caused by a maintance item, lack of maintance, or an improper repair.
This is a hard thing to prove. We all know about it. We know theres an updated band-aid, but ford has never came out and said what the cause was.
This will kill your case if any of these things have happend. Have the plugs been replace or removed prior to one poping out? Was it time to have them replaced and you didnt (over 60k miles). Is the truck more then 5years old or have more then 100k miles on it? If you can awnser yes to about any of these you will not ever win.
The one exception is if you had the plugs replaced by a ford dealer.
One last thing If you have a tie with ford motor company they may view that as you pretty well know the system and how to beat it so they may be less liky to help.
The least would do in this case is file a complant with consumer affairs and possible try to cantact the D.A. about warrenty fraud but make sure you know all the info before you make that claim

What is involved with replacing my 1999 ford expedition load leveler compressor?

I didn't see your original question but from experience I know Ford will ALWAYS give the customer a run around! Which brings us back to Ford and their present dilemna in the market place!
I have been on this site answering questions for folks for a year or more and you always get these insulting derelicts that have nothing more productive with their time than annoy others here!
I'm assuming your heads blew out the spark plug holes? I would purchase after market heads and be done with it! You will spend more time and money arguing with Ford than could be imagined! That is the Corporate America tactic! That is why there is no legal aid society any more to help those in need! The republicans took out the element in order to advance their agendas for "select constituents"- whom by thje way in exchange finance the politicans election!

1997 Escort 4 door - temperature and fuel gauges are not reading correctly?

This reminds me of the SAME issue raised in the sixties when aluminum head Corvair engines came out. People, technicians/engineers were damaging the threads and blowing out plugs and complaining of the design issue. We helicoiled many heads back then.

2002 Chevy Impala Service Traction System Light comes on with ABS light; What's the problem?

OK the same thing happened to my 97 F-150 5.4l it just blew two plugs on one of the heads , my mechanic fixed by removing the heads and repair the treads on the aluminum heads , then he reassembled and voila back on the road , the problem with aluminum heads is not just on fords but any other manufacturer that uses them , you can damage the treads by forcing the spark plug on the head as you replacing this, cross tread is a common problem , the best way to replace a spark plug is with a piece of vacum , or fuel hose small enough to insert the tip of your spark plug on it , then align the plug on the port and ,then you simply rotate the rubber hose and it will tread it on the head without damage the treads , once it is treaded simply remove your hose and then use the spark plug socket to torque it do not over tight ,
