I bought a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee from a dealership, and the next day is started stalling. It stalls when driving down the road, or when stopped at a stop sign or right after turning it on in the morning. It doesn't seem to have any pattern. We have had the fuel pump replaced, the fuel filter, the engine coil, corroded wires, etc. There really aren't a lot of good mechanics on the island where I live and no one can seem to figure out what's wrong. Any ideas?
Oh, and sometimes it will go for a couple of days without stalling at all. Sometimes it starts right back up, sometimes it takes ten minutes.

Try the test on the first line. It says that it's for '80s and early '90s chrysler vehicles but it works on '97 wranglers. If you have any questions as to what a certain code means for you...repost on here and I might be able to help you.

It sounds as though you may have an issue with the computer if it stalls like that.I would also suspect the fuel pump if you had not already changed it.
My 97 also will stall out when it is extremely hot, like over 99.
Jeeps had a common problem with their crankshaft position sensors. If the crank sensor looses its signal it will shut off the fuel and spark causing a stumble and sometimes stall. It sounds like all the other bases have been covered
