Noise from rear locking differential?

Question:
6 mo ago had a new rear locking differential installed in 2000 jeep wrangler. Replaced rings, gears, axles, etc. now when turning left or right - we are getting a clunking noise from the rear of the jeep. Please help! Could this be the differential - or does it sound like something else?

An Auburn limited slip requires a friction modifier to operate smoothly. They sell it in little bottles at any well stocked parts store. What you are hearing is called clutch chatter and it is harmless, but annoying. Add a few ounces and the problem should go away.

Sounds like my problem on mine, when turnning sounds like a popping and clunking sound. Check the CV joint. If your boot is torn, could be dry of grease. that's whats wrong with mine
