3. Exhaust! This is where you may get significant change. The engine may be louder, throatier, sportier and most importantly, more powerful. Exhausts are complicated and require experience and help, not to mention a car-lift. First, there are the headers, new headers, way, way more power. Very expensive, headers start at $1,500. Next there's the cat-back, against potentially expensive. Cheaper cat-backs include Borla, expensive cat-backs are Supersprint, but very, very good. Then there's the muffler, Remus is a good way to go, this is what I have and gives it a new sound and more power.
The purpose of redoing the exhaust is the reduction in backpressure which allows the car to exhale better. Expect to dole out a significant amount of money to upgrade an exhaust. There are of course other permutations you can do with your exhaust, like getting a racing cat-back as opposed to a standard or sport. Much louder, more power!

Horsepower gain: 20-35, never more than 35, unless its a racing exhaust. Expect more like 20 bhp.

Keep in mind, if you purchase an exhaust, you must, in almost all cases, reflash the ECU, and otherwise you will have problems. My best advice is to just take it to the tuner and have them do it, it is a better end-result and more balanced. Good luck.

Dinan (CA) and other tuners (Active Autowerk in Florida, Discovery Automotive, etc.) have performance enhancement options available such as reprogramming for the chip that controls engine management. That might risk engine durability if they remove the rev limiter. You can get new cold air intakes, exhaust systems, and replace parts with Carbon Fiber to reduce weight. Such changes can increase acceleration without harming durability.
