It all depends on manual/automatic, the amount of abuse it has been subjected to, and its performed maintainence. My 1993 Toyota 5spd transmission has lasted me 224k miles and still lives, perfectly.

Exactly 87,439.4 miles.Seriously, that's like asking how long people live. At best, you'll get an average. But it depends on how well it was maintained, your driving style, and countless other variables. Obviously, one that was well maintained and driven reasonably will last longer than one that was ragged to death.

If a Lexus is taken care of, they will last to 300,000 miles. Many are documented at that miles or higher. Average life is 200,000.But like another said, there are solenoids in the transmission that can go out. I see them normally going out around 130,000 on most SC's and GS models. Average bill is about $800 for repairs.
A Lexus will break down 7 times less often than a Chevy. But the Lexus parts will be 4 times more expensive than the Chevy parts. So remember that when you get sticker shock at times.for a Chevy (or similar) would of cost you more with more visits.

well, i have two sc300's and one sc400 and they all have around 110,000 to 120,000 and they are still running very strong. i saw a guy at autozone one day who was going on 200,000 and had of course normal problems but was still running like it did ten years ago and it is very true, lexus is a great car and will keep on truckin for a long time but when that one thing does go bad then you be payin out the wazoo but i suggest if its something that can be fixed with a toyota part then go for it because lexus and toyota parts are generally the same and they are about 1/2 as expensive. just my opinion and to the guy who mislead everyone, 120,000 miles on a sc is babysteps!Motor for 91 honda civic hatch in California?
