How do I fix my front end on a 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited?
sounds like you need a new transmission, but trying changing the transmission fluid to see if that helps, i had an 01 civic 5spd and sometimes it got stuck in first gear sometimes but when i got a transmission flush it fix the problemHow much will it cost to have the water pump replaced on my 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser?
if it's the 5 speed you may have bad clutch if matic you may need transmission/transmission tune upMOSTLY LIKELY THE CLUTCH GONE
if its an automatic then yes it could be a shift solenoid. also i know that in most GM automatics there is a part in the trans. that's called a reverse reaction drum and I'm sure that acura has something similar to this. when it goes bad the vehicle will only go into first and reverse so if you still have reverse that could be the problem. also if its not electronically controled there is a part called a governor that could have gone bad. either way have a good transmission shop or the acura dealership check it out first before you go and buy a new transmission

If it's a 5-speed, it could be your clutch. If you clutch is new, check the clutch fluid. Also it could be your master cylinder.
