Question:
ON my way home from a trip yesterday, and I get oth my street and the tranny just kicks out of gear. I rev it up a little and it kicks back in and goes but next stop sign I get to it kicks out again. Could I just need a flush, fill and replace filter of something much more *meep* expensive.

take the simple steps first. With the engine running, check the transmission fluid level. That is probably the cause. If the fluid is low, the car will have a tendency to "slip".
