no, but you can use automatic trans fluid I believe. How reliable are Ford Rangers?
no you cant must be atf automatic transmission fluidAs stated AT fluid is OK Brake Fluid will eat the seals on your P.S.
i wouldn't as it has a different grade than brake/clutch fluid which is hydraulic, and it would sit on top of the transmission oil and look like sour milk after a short while. transmission oil isn't expensive, but ask your self why do i need to top it up, is there a visible leak if so get it check out or it could lead in a number of problems that cost more money, anyway good luck
where's the bonnet catch on a citroen picasso?
Absolutely NOT go to an Audi centre and get hydraulic fluid !do not use brake fluid to top up power steering as it will eat all the seals

I hope u haven't put the brake fluid in yet??? ONLY USE AND NEVER USE OIL OTHER THEN WHAT IS RECOMENED BY THE DEALER OR AUTO PARTS STORE/DEPT.I need info on 65' ford F-100 wheel fittings.?
brake fluid is for as it says brakes and it can also be used for hydraulic clutch systems.Power steering systems need dextron 2 or auto trans fluid, another fluid can be used, when people read this they will say NO WAY but YES WAY, the oil used to lube airtools can also be used to top up only, dextron2, atf and airtool oil doesn't emulsify when mixed and it has great lubing working under stress.
Another question you might want to ask is "why am I topping up fluid?" Could be natural leakage of fluid through seals or maybe a major leak. BTW power steering systems do leak over a period of time best to power wash area if damp, top up and then monitor system
Good Luck
Whoa ! Ignore all those answers. If that car was an American car you could use automatic tranny fluid but on an Audi you can not. You cant even use regular power steering fluid because Audi and Volkswagen use an actual hydraulic fluid that can not be substituted with anything else. Also as a side note they have their own special coolant hat can not be mixed with anything else or it turns into something like jello and voids your warranty. It is expensive but my recommendation is to go to the dealer and buy the correct fluids to keep your warranty in tact. Hope I have been helpful.
