ok so I know there is a lot of people who think the cars are crap, but I REALLY like them.I've also heard they're not the safest car but for those of you who own one or have owned one would it be a good car for me to get.I don't have any mecanical experience but basically I'm in lOVE with this car!

i own a repair shop and i had an 01 model and it was a good car very sporty and also very fast,but true there not all that safe,if you get hit in one,but compared to other cars on the road they are safer than a lot of the others,but if i wanted one id buy it,a lot of the cars on the road today aren't safe,but people still buy them anyway.good luck i hope this helps.Are Ford Lightning and Ford F-150 suspensions interchangable or identical?

Mechanically, they are sound, but I think you can tell that if you get into a major accident, they will call the coroner and not the ambulance.
If you are going to get the Eclipse, you should really get the GT, and not the GS. The GS is uninspiring and underpowered in my opinion.

If you cannot afford the Eclipse GT, consider looking at the V-6 Mustang. You can get one with Automatic Transmission for just over $18K and it is much more fun than the Eclipse GS. The 5-speed Mustang will run around $17,500.
I generally prefer import cars, but the Mustang is really hard to beat in this class.

Okay let me point out the two people above mentioned a 01 and 03 model. That is the 3rd generation which is totally different than the model you are talking about. I kinda of like the new model of eclipse. The 4th gen looks better than the 3rd gen in my opinion. There are a lot of cars these days especially sports cars that are not safe. And it doesn't help with all these big trucks and suvs driving around either.I haven't heard anything bad about the 07 eclipses. I say if you like it get it. You shouldn't have any problems with a new car for a while.

I have had two mitsubishi eclipses and never had one problem with them. I had a 93 and a 96. I was never fond of the third gen ones but the 4th gen the one you are talking about are sexy as hell. If I didn't have two kids right now there would be one parked in my drive way. I have not heard anything negative about the 2007 eclipse. If you love it buy it. They are great great dependable cars as most mitsu's are!More Questions & Answers ...
