Alright, here's what you do depending on how much you want to spend, and how MUCH boost you want. Now, as you've already said, you don't care about top speed, so just forget a Turbo, that WILL aid in accelerating, but it will mostly raise your top speed as turbos really just help mid range engine performance (3000rpms and up). If you want a real improvement, you should go with a supercharger. A supercharger is belt driven, not exhaust driven, and therefore it provides a huge increase in airflow to the engine right off the line, where as a turbo would have to spool up and wouldn't kick in until the mid RPMs. Now, that will cost a lot, so if you're just looking to spend as little as possible, go with a full exhaust kit and an intake. Also, upgrade the cam(s) for more lift (the longer the valve is open, the more A/F mixture gets into the combustion chamber, this is the best way to up your horsepower). most basic is I/H/E (Intake/header/exhaust) should gain you a couple more horsepower.Best upgrade would be a turbo kit, next would be a supercharger kit (Jackson racing kits are smog legal if that matters).
