my 96 intrepid has 121,000 miles on it. Recently had the computer and crank sensor replaced and a pully was also installed on one of the belts. I took it to Car-X for this work to be done. Yesterday the check engine light came on and I took it back. They were unable to find the problem. While driving (Accelerating) the check engine light goes in and out and the car is stuggling. It feels like it is gasping for air somewhere. Almost like it is trying to shut off while driving. Car X was unable to find the cause for this. Any ideas? Suggestions?

it could be a number of things, for example the mass air sensor, fuel injector, clogged catylitic converter, might even be a vaccum line off somewhere. I am suprised that they didn't find anything, did they hook it up on the computer and run a diagnostic? it could be the plugs or wires. if the wires are bad it would cause the car to miss and give a check engine light. an easy way to check them is to get some where dark and have a spray bottle with water in it. start the car and spray a mist over the wires and coil pacs. if you see little sparks it means u need new wires. have you had them changed befor? if not I would prob change them and plugs. hope this helpsDoes anyone have any idea on how to program a remote for a 92 chevy caprice classic?
This needs to be taken to another mechanic. The timing belt might be broken or jumped a tooth. Driving it this way will destroy the engine. Get it towed.More Questions & Answers ...
