you stick you **** in the spark plug hole and have someone crank it. If it is still in one piece when you take it out there is something wrong with your car... you may want to have it checked. Not sure about the sex question.
If it runs well and is comfortable it is a female. If it tends to be sluggish when the weather is cold it may be male. Do you notice that it pulls to the side when you pass malls? This is a sure sign of a female car.
