syn. is good to start a new engine on,but an older motor can start leaking or burning a syn. oil. I would run Castrol 20w 50w year around.A oil thinner than 20 50,you may not pass emissions.Bad Smells in 2006 Toyota Corolla Ascent?
ValvolineCheck you Owner's manual. It will tell you what the type and grade you should use. If you don't have the manual just call a dealership they'll tell you. If not do some research online.

10-w30, best brand you can afford that is NOT total synthetic.I need new spark plugs for a BMW 323ci. Any guesses as to cost (DC Metro). Thanks.?
get the cheapest semi-synthetic 10W30 oil you can find with a decent brand - even big chain store brand is ok. Motorcraft (by Ford) is usually a good deal. (Go to Wal-mart and compare) Change oil and filter every 3400-3900 miles. I would use only Purolator Plus or Napa Select filters, not Fram or pennzoil or quaker state. I used cheap $2.09 supertech (wal-mart brand) filters several times before, not anymore. You can try if you like. No need to use oil additives unless you have problems and want to try. As I recall, your car's oil filter is reachable from under the hood. If you buy a Pela oil extractor, you won't need to jack up the car or go underneath. Check out the Pela 6000. The item arrives at your house in about a week after ordering.Where to buy a rl flowmaster sprayer model#227d?

Edit: I remember that the 4-cyl engine's oil filter is reachable from under the hood. I don't know about the V6.
