It can be tricky to fix, but the rod can be reconnected. If you have to take the door panel off theres several phillips head screws hidden behind plastic covers under the handle and in the door pocket. After that the perimiter is help on with pop clips and electrical/mechanical connections. The detent is just held on with a few metric bolts. Good luck.
