Honda civic suspension?

Question:
I'm now choosing between Altis 1.6 and Honda Civic 1.8 both manual. Received advise to choose Altis even if old body design because Civic's suspension is questionable. Is this true? Has there been no improvements on suspension of the new civic? Need your advise on this please. Thanks

The current Civic has a great suspension. It gets totally re-designed every 4 yrs.
