Was there ever a model of MG automobile that had a rear-mounted engine?

Question:
I swear I have seen this little MG car (I would estimate no older than late 1960s or somewhere in the 1970s) that had a rear mounted engine with a grill on the back of the car. It looked like a really small Porsche, in fact. The back of the car sloped down sort of like a Beetle or a Porsche. I am sure it was an MG, but I cannot seem to find what model it is.
