the v tech comes in at about 5500 rpm,you will feel the car accelerate real hard,after several trys if the v techis not working it should set a check engine light,check the oil if it is low the v tech will not come on and it will set a v tech code

vtec kicks in at 4500 rpm's you will know if the car launches.the pitch off the engine will change, it will acellerate faster and you may feel a pull, itll kickin at around 5000 rpm if your not sure redline it but dont go into the red!

It's difficult to tell when VTEC engages. However, audibly, it's easier to tell if car is equipped w. aftermarket induction/headers/exhaust. Also, cars with oil pressure gauges will show slight pressure drop @ VTEC engagement since the system uses the engine's oil system to actuate the switchover to the high-lift cams..More Questions & Answers ...
