The Autozone approach will possibly give you the "code" but not much more. You dont mention the code but the accident probably has nothing to do with the check engine light. If you are mechanically inclined go the Zone route and take a shot at fixing is yourself, if you aren't then do a local internet search in and around your home/community and try to locate a good shop with a good reputation. Ask around also.
