Question:
My 5 year Corsa just passed its MOT last Weds, Emission test ok, however, the Exhaust Emission light has come on & stayed on. Any ideas why, could this be connected to the Petrol poblem scare, although the car drives fine with no problems?- Should I go to a dealer and be ripped off?

Take it back to the garage that did the MOT. If nothing else, ask them what it could be. It's too soon after its test for something to be going wrong that you haven't been advised about, I think. Are there pins on the back of the '97-'01 Acura Integra badge that says "Acura"?
I suspect it's unlikely to be the petrol scare, but I would think that perhaps something got knocked during the MOT? Maybe that's why it's only now come on?
Cheep Horsepower in a 93 Jeep Cherokee?
I doubt it's connected to the petrol scare, as I think it would have carboration problems, eg cutting out, trouble starting, etc.Sometimes lights on the dashboard come on unnecessarily, doesn't mean there is a problem. Don't go to the dealer yet if you don't trust them, just keep an eye on it.
Check your oil regularly - if your car is burning oil out of the exhaust it will produce alot of emmisions.
Did you know Toyota imports about 50% of vehicles sold in USA?
are you sure it is the exhaust emmisions light ?. or is it just the ecu fault light. either way you have a prob. i think that with the corsa you can only get the code read of with tech 2 or other reader at a local garage. ive heard it can cost from £ 30 - 60 just to get it read. check the net as you can do the paperclip test on some vauxhalls but i suspect your car is too new to do this.Does anyone make a aftermarket hood for a 71 volkswagen super beetle?
It could be a variety of things, although the fact that a warning light is coming on suggests that it is something to do with the electrical side - there is a possibility of a lambda sensor problem. I would advise taking it to a decent local mechanic where they will most likely hook it up to diagnostics computer for you. If you haven't noticed any major differences in performance and such I wouldn't be too worried.hi there with the newer model vauxhalls the cats are very poor on then, i've come accross afew of these, if you put it on the dianostics it will tell you that the first row lambda is running to ritch and the cat is doing the same, if i was you i would get some descent fuel/injection cleaner in the petrol tank and this should help loads, the descent cleaner is about £15 a bottle but its better than paying £300-£400 for a garage to fix the problem
