I work on the Toledo Jeep Wrangler assembly line and own a 2001 Jeep Wrangler and 1984 Jeep CJ7 and love the looks of the new JK.The freedom top did have a leak problem,but they have a new seal which has helped.For some reason everyone thinks that they all come with power windows,but you still can get manual windows.The engine is not as bad as everyone thinks,it is a little underpowered but a cold air intake and computer change will take care of that.If you would like to purchase one e-mail me and I will get you a friends employee discount.What is needed to swap a B18c1 into a 1997 civic hatch?

The JK has received mixed emotions from Jeepers all over. I personally don't like it, simply because it has a minivan motor (goodbye low end torque), has far too much electronic garbage in it (power windows? get real), and is built for soccer moms all over. I wouldn't mind the available NavRadio (but not in my Jeep). There is really only 1 thing I have found that I consider an improvement, and that is the swaybar disconnect. Aside from that, it is like the Grand Cherokee - overengineered ride for yuppies and soccer moms.Any one ever here of a Chevy S10 DURANGO.?

I have had a 97 and 2001 wrangler and have just purchased the 2007 2door X I have had it only a week and have only minor complaints. I don’t know what the jeep engineers were thinking when they removed the fold and tumble seats. You must be really athletic and skinny to enter the back seat. This renders the jeep strictly as a 2 passenger vehicle only. Also Jeep states there is more interior room but I disagree; there used to be space under the back seat to store small items such as jumper cables(in the 2007 the rear bench seat sits on the floor); also the area in front of the seats is smaller(I have taken my floor mats from my 2001 and put them in the 2007 and they don’t fit because they are too large).Does any one know if I can put a sixth seat in a Dodge Magnum?
This is the stupidest modification they added to the 2007 wrangler and shows how out of touch the jeep engineers are with people that use the soft-top. The rear window in previous jeeps used to snap into metal brackets at the top of the jeep frame; now they use removable plastic brackets???! So every time you want to remove or add the rear window the plastic brackets pop off adding several annoying minutes to the task. The refitted window never fits the same after the 1st removal. I just don’t understand the function for that modification. Nothing could justify the plastic brackets in my opinion.

Overall I am not overly impressed with the new modifications from the 2001 to the 2007. Nothing wows you however I do not off road that often. I like the subtle standard options such as abs, Electronic Stability Program, and the layout of the instrument panel and center console.

Hey MOOSE, read it and weep. My '07 has High Pinion Dana 44's front and rear with stock 4.11. the 4:1 transfer case (think Atlas and $1500) gives me a 75:1 crawl ratio. Stock. Wait there's more. Electric lockers front and rear, and the sway bar diconnect. This Jeep is a hard core wheelers wet dream. Stock! The V6 is a little revy but useful. Just put on an AEM air intake, and it helps. Only major gripe is the manual tranny is geared to close. I can shift from 4 to 6 getting on the freeway. Love it though. Oh, the head rests are hard as a rock. (bought little pillows for it). Oh yeah, has power door locks, windows and keyless remote. Love them all. But the doors come off in 2 minutes, so in a way it has part time power window and door locks. Also, it has an annoying lightd go on when you lock the door thing, but you get used yo it.More Questions & Answers ...
