1: I got about 28 mpg on my 82 civic wagon.2: It finally died after 235K miles on it. It sat for a year and I sold it to a fellow who put a new engine in it greased it up and tinkered with the transmission and he drove it away for god knows how much longer....great little car.

Unless Civic's engine has a problem, (in many cases it doesn't) the car itself can go up to at least 100,000 miles.But you can feel that the car is getting "old" around 80,000 miles.

As long as you keep good maintanance, 100,000 shouldn't be a problem.

ya hondas can go along time if there well cared for, i dont wat some of you are doing to your cars, i have a civic with 158000km and its fine, runs smooth, and as far as the 82 accord, dude that car is 26 years old, of course its gonna have alot of problems, hondas werent that good yet at that time. They say the best years of honda were the early/mid 90's993, 996 or save for a 997? Pukka Porsche all the way... .?
i have a 89 honda civic dx with 500k miles on it on the orignal engine and transmission i take good care of it it has gone out yet but i would say average life is about 450-500k milesman civic is can last long and i mean long lasting if u know how to take care of it.....but is can go long as 100.000 k for new one and the used is about 80-100.000 if they take good care and civic is good but alway broken down if u race or drive like a maniac like me ill take accord
