Question:
This isout to the evo owners, how fast are they? What is the top speed? pros and cons?im thining of buying one
Answers:
1. They are over priced.. My $23k srt-4 eats evo's for lunch, and was killing evo's with only about a grand into it.. A friend of mine has a really fixed up evo running 26 pounds of boost, and sadly my little neon, with only 17 pounds of boost, can kick his car's *** by at least 8 to 10 cars..
2. I love the all wheel drive of the evo.. Though, I'll always be a bigger fan of rear wheel.. But the all wheel is pretty nice..
3. The interior and features of the evo (sound system, etc) are NIIIIIIICE.. REALLY nice.. Should be for $30k and up.. The HID's are also an added bonus..
4. They come with 286 horses stock, 289 pounds of torque.. So yeah.. They are pretty quick.. But kind of expensive to mod.. But you didn't say if you were interested in modding it or not!! Although, if you're gonna buy a turbo car like that, how can you NOT mod it??
5. Top speed.. I believe it to be like 160 mph?? I think.. I'm not completely sure on that one.. It's been a while since I've been in one..
Overall, I think that Evo's are pretty decent cars.. All of the guys I know that have Evo's have no complaints mechanically or anything.. They seem to be pretty decent, reliable cars.. And they are pretty luxurious.. I just can't seem to get over the fact that they are so pricey.. I just think that Evo's and STI's are way to expensive for what they are.. If they were over the 300 hp mark, that might be different.. But hey, if you have the money to spend and that's what you really want, more power to you!! And hopefully, I'll see you on the road!! Haha.. Good luck!!
Mazda B2200 engine starts but stops when key released?
Sounds like someone doesn't know how to drive their EVO if they are letting an SRT4 beat it. One con to the EVO is the clutch. Mitsubishi is very picky with warranty items, especially since most people mod their cars (and because Mitsu builds them somewhat race ready). The clutch is a weak point for obvious reasons. They also have problems with squealing brakes and the occasional strut rattling. Don't let that take away from the fact that they are FUN to drive, and can be very fast. I have a friend with an '05 EVO MR and with $1500 can put 350+ HP to the wheels. He hasn't raced it yet, but I know it will be pretty fast. How do i replace the fuel injectors in a 2002 ford focus 2.0 zetec engine?
I agree with Moose. The only cons to my EVO 8 so far in the almost 4 years I had it.What are the reasons for gear twist and dis torsion ?
1) Clutch was slipping at 3,000 miles
2) It misfires every couple of months so I get that stupid CEL.
How fast does a stock 97' Mitsubishi Eclipse go?
Nothing against SRT 4 either but no SRT 4 (stock or modded) has beaten me yet. That and there's no way anybody can say an EVO or STI is overpriced. There's no stock car that can beat these two (speed, 0-60, quarter mile, and handling) for under $50k. Although I do think the MR is overpriced and the RS is a "not worth it EVO"
Again, not to disrespect the first poster because I like the SRT myself but her friend with the EVO can't drive.
