This is what happened the Aviator was suppose to be selling about 30,000 a year but it fell short by 10,000.Also it was to similar in looks with the Explorer so that was another negative. It got fuel mileage like the navigator and it was up their in cost with it getting up to 50 grand. Now in 2008 or 09 Lincoln is comming out with a 7 passenger crossover that should be better than the Aviator in every aspect so you can wait for that. Are there any recalls on 2000 Ford Contour transmissions?

The Aviator was a great SUV, but it looked too similar to the Navigator. It was very expensive for what it was, an Explorer. For a few grand more, a buyer could get a Navigator. Not enough Aviators sold, so Ford dropped it for the MKX.Where is the IAT sensor on my 2006 Jeep Commander?
it was literally a navigator that was about 4 inches smaller. the engine was the same, same torque, same horsepower, and lots more, and ford was wasting money when the mountaineer was a classy explorer, so why make another classy explorer when they already have one. and also the gas prices made them make the mkx. the mkx is a classier version of the edge.More Questions & Answers ...
