96 olds 3100-v6, water in oil...LOTS! runs good otherwise. i hear theres a problem wit intake gaskets on these

there is what a few bolts to pull off then you just pull off the intake-manifold. It should that you about 30 min if you have the tool gasket maker and gasket and to know how to do it. You have to have the book for the car. Or unless you have another gasket blown.

You hear right - ONE of the major problems with this engine is intake manifold (or rather plenum) gasket. You are looking at about $300-400 to get it replaced. If coolant was present in oil for a long period of time, the lower end bearings may be damaged. Make sure it runs quietly before doing anything else - it won't be too enjoyable to replace the engine with a new intake gasket.
