I have worked for Kia for the past five years. Hyundai actually bought in the Kia Motors company in 2000. They now own 51% of the Kia Motors company, both which come from South Korea. Yes there parts are swapped back and fourth, there vehicles are basically the same. In the future they plan on making the differences between the two to be less obvious.
If you look close at some of the newer model Kia's notice the parts will have Hyundai logos.

yes it does that is why kias are based off of hyundai, basically buying a kia is just like buying a hyundai. you can probably swap parts with hyundais when you need replacement parts.
