My 4Runner Alarm isn't working?

Question:
I have a 1995 4Runner SR5 Limited with a V6, the little Red light on the security panel thingy went out yesterday, and this morning, i opened the door, and i didn't set the alarm off, could someone tell me how to fix this??

if the car starts and runs don't worry about it , but if you like the alarm it will be cheaper in the long run to have a new aftermarket put on then try to fix the factory one.

About the only downside to owning a 4Runner is lack of technical expertise - they so rarely break down that nobody knows how deal with it. In any case, if it's the factory system, you'll need wiring diagram to figure out what is wrong, and the most feasible option is probably going to a dealer. Yeah, I know it's not a very exciting proposition...
If this is an aftermarket system, try to find out who installed it, and see if the outfit is still around. You may need to contact the original selling dealer.
