7 series BMW's have a water drain that runs down the fire wall, behind your front fenders, chances are these water drains are plugged up. In the shop we use a wire and air pressure to blow them out. You have a leak in somewhere in the car. The leak can often come from the trunk seal, door seals, or the tail light assemblies. If this is a convertible you may have a slight tear forming that is allowing water in to the car as well. Take it to the dealer and have them investigate this. Not a simple answer! It could be a number of things.The most common would be a leaking windshield seal. The water can get through the seal and drain behind the dash and onto the floor area.

One other thing it may be, and it may not be related to rain at all, is the air conditioner condensor drain. On many cars, the a/c will come on automatically when you use the defroster. When an a/c works, it actually "drys" the air. Thus, you have water from the condensor that needs to drain. The condensor drain line can get clogged, or simply knocked off by somebodys foot. The drain line is typically on the passenger side, just under the dash. Take a look under and look for a small diameter (about 3/8") that is not connected.

Most people don't realize that the sunroof is designed to "leak". There are drains in the sunroof channels that need to be cleaned occasionally. Usually compressed air will do it.
