'need lemon law attorney'... go to your States Gov. site. and look up lemon law or attorney generals office in your state.Also, check out the following links to read up on recalls etc on your Dodge. (You may luck out and repair work may be covered on a recall.) Generally if you take the car back for repair for the same problem 3x it will fall under the lemon law... not sure about used vehicles. RESEARCH if the original warranty was transferable when you bought it.. if so '99 Dodge Trans, may be covered up to 100K.

If you decide to have it fixed... go with a NEW trans. I had a Dodge (Avenger) trans rebuilt at 110k and it was never the same... I drove it the way it was, for about 30K more then traded it.

On my 1999 dakota, the bolt that holds the shift lever on the transmission came loose, and the lever was hanging by the cable. Look under the truck and see if that's the case.
As for the lemon law thing, these aren't the most reliable vehicles.
i think u should check the transmission fluid and and see if has fluid while doing this check all other fluids too also when you move the lever to drive or to revese is it loose or is it just hard to pull down if the lever comes down loose then there u go the cars wiring to the transmission needs to be replaced

Don't Call Dodge they won't help buy anything but Daimler ChryslerOnce again Don W is bitter and hasnt gone through the right avenues for getting help. Misguided bitter man. Lemon laws will not help you in a 1999 Dodge Durango or any other make of car. It is considered a used vehicle. Problems happen. Lemon law is NOT a easy process and will end up taking u lots of time. That is for any vehicle. Take it to a qualified shop and have them see what is wrong. it the cable is screwed up its a easy fix. ALL makes of vehicled have problems. Its how you take care of them that makes the difference.
