VW 2001 Jetta GLS mirror setting?

Question:
I have a 2001 Jetta whose mirror just broke. I got it fixed, but the GLS VR-6 has power/memory setting. Does anyone know how to reset it so the mirror works with the memory settings. The seats and the passenger side mirror work fine, and the driver side mirror (which was replaced) works fine with the remote, but it does not hold onto the memory settings.

1998 Chev. Blazer. Acting Weird?!?

Any ideas on how to get this fixed. I tried everything according to the manual and it still does not hold the settings. The dealer quoted me $130 to only get a look at this.

Have you tried unhooking the battery, and hooking it back up?
This sometimes resets the memory stuff.
