I have a 99 honda and the check engine light is on, what could this be?
modern BMWs use brake pad sensors on each axle. On LHD cars, the front sensor is on the driver side and the rear sensor is on the passenger side. These sensors are one-time use only and when they are triggered, the 'brake pad lining' light illuminates to warn you that one or more of your brake pads are too thin and need to be replaced.I have my PIN for Golf radio but do not know how to activate it.. any ideas?
basically, you need a brake job on either the front or rear axle or possibly both. BMWs use thin rotors, so you'll also likely need new rotors along with brake pads and new brake pad sensor to replace the one that triggered the warning light. Once you've replaced your brakes and install a new sensor, the 'brake pad lining' warning light will turn off.
How much is the difference is there in a D15 cam and a D16 cam?
If you are going to fix this yourself, buy a complete brake kit from an online BMW parts retailer like bimmerbum.com or your favorite place. Bimmerbum.com has a complete brake kit (sensors, pads, rotors, brake fluid) for under $300 for all 4 corners. Brake job DIY is fairly simple. If you decide to take this route, see link 1 below for instructions. If you've done disc brakes on other types of cars, BMWs are not all the different except that they have brake pad sensors and the wheel hubs have no studs so the rotors are held on by a single 7mm hex screw. If you plan on DIY-ing this, i also recommend getting the Bentley repair manual for your car so that you have the correct torque specs for this job.
When is Lexus going to change the sc430 body style?
If you decide to use a dealership mechanic, expect to be charged between $300-$500 for parts and about $500-$700 for labor. If you use an independent BMW mechanic, labor would be lower between $300-$500.

Does an automatic engine consume more fuel than a manual engine?
Call the mechanic? Seriously though - if you own a Beeeeeemer do you really need to be worrying about cost?Ive been riding clutch for about 2 months how bad is my clutch?
Buy your own parts at Bavarian Auto Sport... BAVAUTO.COM , buy the pads and the brake pad sensor wire. If you go to just any mechanic they more than likely wont have the wire or know about it. I have seen regular places that dont specialize in BMW's put pads on pads that really don't fit and screw up. It doesn't cost that much to put on either.More Questions & Answers ...
