Drain out the old oil (leaving old filter in place); pour in the same amount of engine flush fluid; start & run car at idle for 5mins; stop and drain the fluid completely; fit new filter; add new oil; run car around the block a few times; recheck oil and top-up if necessary.

sound of gushing water when i stop & start to pull off in my renault scenic can anybody help?

I would think though its possible that with the age of your car it might need a new radiator as they get plugged with junk over the life of a car and usually they start by overheating sometime between 150,000 miles or 15 years whichever comes first, thats just a rough estimate some go less so go furthur but if your car is 29 years old and its not been done I would try a flush but be ready for a radiator.

Any opinions on Country Ford Incorporated in Southaven, MS?

Your previous question related to the cooling system and heater rather than the Lubrication system so here is how to flush the cooling system.
One should remove a cooing system hose as low down as possible, drain out the coolant, refill, start engine briefly, top up to full, remove hose start etc until clean water emerges, then remove both heater hoses, insert the end of a garden hose in one in a manner not un akin to the AI man with the cattle, and force water through the heater until it runs clear, Re assemble the hoses and fill wih Rad Flush and water, do a few miles as specified and drain, flush out as above and refill with one half neat Antifreeze, Long life stuff, and one half water, we filter rain water from the roof of the Barn, but at a pinch tap water, but as a general rule specified by the Air Ministry for Spitfires etc, you shuld only use drinking water for cooling systems and Thames Water's water is full of female Hormone which is why London chaps turn Queer, so be careful. Do this on a warmish day or your Hand and the Radiator may freeze.
I use a 2 litre Cider bottle or two. fill one up with Antifreeze, tip half of it into another bottle, top both up with water and hey presto 50% mixtur.
Keep some 50% by for topping up. The supermarket 50% mix is rubbish.
Finally check the heater works, if not bleed air from as high up as possible, and top up every trip until all the air has worked its way out and the level stabilises, I think the Escort only has a Cold level marking so check before you set off.

Desert selection on the AMC Dashboard?

I have a couple of cars from this sort of area and older. Normally the first thing I do is drain the radiator then take it right out.
To do this loosen off the bottom rad hose at the rad end. Use a screw driver to loosen the clap. Then pull hose off radiator. Next remove rad cap and remove top hose. Same as doing bottom. Next out comes the radiator.
Normally just four bolts. I take it down to the local wash center and run a water blaster through it.(Don't take the escort when doing this!) Your running the high pressure water through the water system not over radiator . Then bolt it back in. Or if you can 't get access to a water blaster or don't want to take out the radiator, go to your local parts store and get a chemical flush and just follow the directions.
Only do this when engine is cold! Radiators are under pressure!!

i have a chevy impala that i leased a year ago, i want to trade it in and lease a new car, is it to late?

ford escorts are prone to have air pockets after bleeding .fill system to cold mark on water bottle. keep the top off , run engine for about 20 mins, look for bubbles coming outof bottle , when they have stopped. replace screw top. i.e. put heater on hot and blower on fast.p.s, dont forget winter and summer antifeeze
