sound like a bad ground. Noise is backfeeding. Check your wiring and start with the ground.

it's suppose to go crazy when you accelerate. That's the primary reason for this. Now if she is climbing erratic then check connections at your coil under the hood. But I suspect it could be a gauge going bad. Wont know unless tested or removed or when it decides to quit altogether
