My Landrover Discovery seems to be gutless , it very slowly accelerates to 2000 rpm then it goes kangaroo, jumps and judders then seems to go through it and drive beautifully up to 3000rpm but won't go past that , what is the problem, intitially though it was fuel starvation but then the flat points and good point at differing rev ranges makes me think it could be engine mechanical, possibly valves. Any ideas

Redex it! Make sure it's for diesel though. Crap in the tank.Does sound like fuel starvation, maybe a blocked filter, pump etc. I'd look at the filter first, probably crap sucked through from the tank.

You have probably got water contamination in your fuel line fortunately on Disco you have a water trap attached to your fuel filter you need to drain this.I don't think its valves but there is a possibility that your turbo waste gate actuator is not working correctly you need to check your turbo boost psi should be around 7 psi hope this helps Mick UKOn a 1990 honda accord, what does the little green (S) on the dash mean?
is the engine manegement light on? it might the air flow metre by the air box, disconnect it and see if its any better,Sounds as though one of he intercooler hoses might have come off.
