Mazda Miata?

I run 10-40 in mine and don't have any problems. I think all the multigrades are basically 10wt, they just have different property's. 30 wt is a lot heavier than 10-30 and 40 wt is much heavier than 10-40 or even 20-50, so you don't want to run any straight wts

Older Ford Explorers (like say first generation 1991-1994 and OHV and 5.0 v-8 1995-2001s) with say 200,000 miles you can use them IMO but the SOHC engines are very tight motors and the heavier oil will cause issues I find.

On the SOHC engines, 10w30 would be a maximum in my opinion.

ABS Braking Sysytem on Ford Freestar?

If the owners manual dosn't say its ok and it dosn't, putting it in your engine is a really bad idea. Realy if the oil pump can't supply oil that is thicker than normal fast enugh the bearings will cavitate destroying them. But if you think your engine needs 15W40 its probbly too late anyway,

If under warranty don't. If high milage OK. The increase in oil pressure will be very small. If in a high temperature enviroment OK. If not really needed for the milage factor or temperature factor, you will lose some fuel milage. Tests had been done that prove the lighter oil to help fuel milage.

Lighter oils will help on fuel mileage... and actually help on wear...
