Volvo by far. When i rarly see these coming into the shop, they are for maintance, I commonly see them ranging anywhere from 200 000km - 600 000km. These cars will last forever. Just don't neglect the maintance and this is the most reliable and safest vehicle out there (Volvo as a company). I know Volvo isn't the coolest vehicle out there, but they are safe, and for what thier worth, very reliable, they will rust apart before they die. I've head of one die before 250 000km. That was a fluke by a neglectful technician in another city, (didn't put the new timing belt on when he did the timing kit, why he didn't use the new belt that came with the kit is beyond me).What are the advantages of a short ram?
The only thing that will kill a vehicle is non maintance or lack of repairs. I see Volvo beign the cheapest overall in this catagory.
I see many GM vehicles come into the shop, and maninly the GM 2 and 3L series engines (sunfirs, cavaliers, grand am's, grand prix's, bonneville, montana, transport, lumina, lumina APV, and so on. These are very problematic engines for leaking with expencive repairs, almost every one I've seen come into the shop has has an intake manifold leak (on the 3L series) and thats a large bill to repair, the 2L series generally have head gasket problems, and a problem with the heads warping.

92 Pontiac Bonneville. It has the quality. And you can take it any place to get it fixed. Not everybody will work on a Volvo because it is a foreign car and they have to order the parts overseas and they sometimes deliver them by boat and that takes a lot of extra time.And they charge more to fix foreign cars because they can. A Bonneville is every bit as good as a Volvo and much more user friendly. I had an 85 Bonneville and it was a great car. I now have a 93 Cadillac Deville and it's great. Anyway thart's my opinion. A friend of mine had an older Volvo and even the foreign car garage didn't want to work on it.
