Exactly how much money will it take to fill up my gas tank?

I drive a 95' ford contour. We've had it for atleast 12 years, give or take a few. At about $2.50 a gallon (estimate) will $30 fill up the tank? I also want to make sure I don't over flow it and pay more than I have to. Thank you to anyone that answers this.

That car came with a 16 gallon tank. If your on empty your tank should take about 14 to 15 gallons. At 2.50 a gallon thats 37.50. So in answer to your question, 30 dollars will not fill up your tank. Now please remeber that this is based of your tank only having 1 gallon of fuel left. most the time there is more fuel in it then that.As far as over flowing the tank, Most pump will shut off before the tank will over flow. When the pump shuts off your tank is full. No need to ad more fuel.
