Dont laugh i am a woman after all?
I had a '94 that I bought new and I got about 170,000 on before the engine blew 3 years ago. And I did not maintain it as well as I should have, so it probably would have gotten a lot more than that if I had just taken care of it. Also, I never took it off-road, unless you count the time I had to go over the median to get out of RFK stadium!!I currently have a 2000 Wrangler that has about 84,000 on it.
How do I fix my 1998 dodge Dakota?
The jeep 4.0 liter is an awesome motor that if properly maintained could easily see 200,000miles before a rebuild. The body will go long before the motor will. How much does an upgraded alternator cost??
Alot of it depends on the history of the vehicle. If it has been used on the Rubicon Trail for 5 years then its pretty much dead, however if its been a get around vehicle somewhere then it has a lot of potential. Yes, the 4.0L is known for its durability and will last a long time. However, there are other things that will need replaced before that goes out. If it is a manual transmission- then expect a clutch replacement or at least service before your engine dies. Also, if it's a 4x4 then the 4 wheel drive system will need some service done and depending on its history can be somewhat complicated- however I would not be afraid. I would say miles to expect before anything needs services would be right @ 100k, then you might have to get some flushes for your differential fluid, trans, and maybe some clutch work. After that, if you take care of the vehicle, I can easily see one going for longer than 200k.Does anybody know where i can get a ford ka..?
Don't get me wrong I love my 03' Tj but i have already done crank, bearings, front and rear engine seal, lifters.(thank god for waranty. And I can tell you I use it for a get around vehicle and it only has 85,000km so yah somthing to think about they do take maintenace for sure. Is your unit lifted if so it will afect the wear life of alot of components depending how high you lift is, thats just a personal experience with my jeep. Any way hope I helped out.More Questions & Answers ...
