Ignition problems with 96 toyota celica lift back?

Question:
well i had no battery tie down and the positive battery connecter came off and the altinator died ever scence then i havent been able to take the keys out of the ignition unless i disconecct the positive battery cable from the car. the rest of the car works fine, i can start it and turn it off, just when i try to get the key out it wont relese it. an answers?

This is in your "Trans Lock system". Check all of your fuses. There may be other problems with shift switches and require more knowledge of auto repair to find the problem.
