Question:
I had to splice into a hot wire in order for the motor to fire and stay running, but then i can not turn it off unless i disconnect the wire. Does anyone know of a ignition wire that shuts off power when I turn the key to off position?

It almost sounds like you spliced your fuel pump to a hot wire. A way to test it would be with the engine not running plug the wire in if you hear your fuel pump that would be you problem. In this case you need to find wire that is only hot when the key is on. I sure that if you did the conversion you may have already thought about this, but I over looked it once when doing a S10 v6 to V8 conversion.Second hand middle sigment car and CNG kit?
