Mercedes Benz. it's good on gas and terrible in the winter because it's diesel and it takes forever to heat up but it just never started up right and the lights would always out.VWs are pretty bullet proof, it must not have liked you.

Worst cars the family ever had were a 1985 Austin Montego (engien terminal) and a 1995 Vauxhall Cavalier (new off the production line but poorly made, probably because it was the last batch built before switching to Vectras).
My worst car by far was a Saturn ION. What a complete piece of junk! Nothing but problems. What ever made me buy it in the first place?!?! I got rid of it and got an 07 Rabbit.
For me a 2000 VW beetle turbo. The color of the car was yellow lime and the color match perfectly the reliability. Even with the full warranty the car was a nightmare. I have problems with the vacuum of the turbo, radiator, windows and some interior parts can broke easily. I ended selling the car because in one month the car past 3 weeks in the dealer workshop.
But I admit the ride of the car was impressive and fun to drive.
This was my 3rd. VW and the worst one.

1996 Chrysler Cirrus LXi [bought in 1997]. Perfect car in ever aspect EXCEPT for the transmission [kinda a vital component, no?]. At the time, it was my only car, and it left me stranded more times than I can recall. The Chrysler dealership was forever fixing or replacing the transmission, but that didn't help with my lost time at work or the incredible inconvenience. GRRRR! >:(My transmission is going out. How much would it cost to replace it? It is a 93 Toyota Camry?
Conversely, my huge family swears by Chryslers [which is why I decided to give one a try] and they are all trouble-free and have been for the decades they have been buying them.
