Will a 318 block from a 1987 w150 bolt into my 1992 dakota?

my dakota has a 318 in now but we just took the 318 out of my sons 1987 full size.If i change the intake will the block bolt in?

yes it will bolt in.will also need very little in way of modification to work. it may already be ok to bolt up to your existing transmission. ( you didnt say which one you had ) but odds are the transmission is the same.youll want to save the efi from the 92 and bolt it onto the older 318,as this will give you better fuel economy,but is not critical for the 318 to work,as it will function with a carb as well.

yes it will bolt in it ,but you,ll have to change some things on it,,but it will,and can be put in it,,i had a factory Dakota with a 318 in it,,it done alright,,you,ll need a transmission also,,good luck i hope this help,s.

The bolt up on the transmission is the same, the engine mounts are different and will need some modification. The '87 block is mounted with ears at the front of the block, the Magnum mounts are bolted to the side in threaded bosses. The Magnum has the mounting ears in front,so would bolt in the '87 without special mounts. The '87 block has no bosses on the side for the magnum mounts, so mounts would have to be fabricated or bought.
