and it has been giving me a LOT of trouble lately
i would really appreciate if someone can tell me how to fix the problems that i have or how much would you think it would cost to get them fixed

Can anyone give me information on this part number, 993803 from the late 60's early 70's for Chevrolet.

*first of all, the electronics are off, my antenna works when it wants and it either gets stuck in the up position or in the retrieved position.
*my dashboard has a mind of its own, especially the speedometer, its accurate when it works but it works for like 2 days a week, and lately, the gas and temp guages were not working like they should too.
*the lights next to the shifting knob dont light up all the time
*there is a rattling in the exhaust pipe, it sounds like there are iron shavings in there
*and this last thing that is bugging me the most is that a couple months ago, an interference came over the speakers and wont go away, and it was annoying so i turned the radio off. when i stopped and popped the trunk there was a burning smell i saw that the capacitor power cable came loose

I am pretty sure that your wires are messed up. You have to check all the grounds and then go one by one unplugging each connector checking for rust/wear and if you have one, use a voltmeter to check for shorts and the like. Dont forget to also check the fuses and relays and their connections carefully. Inspect for faulty connections or damaged wires.

The rattling in the exhaust pipe, I know is caused by the muffler or the catalytic converter's honeycomb falling apart. If it's the cat you need to buy both, if it's the muffler just get the muffler.
