Ok the only thing that is connected when in nutrual is the tranmission input shaft it turns the cluster gears. so something in this part of the gear train is making the noise. Bad input shaft roller bearing or cluster gear needle bearings. This is the only parts moving when the clutch is out I have never heard a transmission make the noise you describe and beleave me I have repaired a lot of them in my days of drag raceing. You say you just replaced the clutch, when it is under pressure it make the noise and when unloaded it stops. You did something wrong or you have a bad defective clutch. When you bolt the pressure plate to the flywheel, it has to be pulled down with the bolts evenly working in a chris cross pateren. tightening the bolts a little at a time, back and forth. Check the throw out arm to see if it isn't hitting, it changes angles when clutch is pushed in.Can you set the timing on a 4.9 liter w/electronic ignition (6 cyl. Ford 250) ?

Good answers but I bet you did not have the flywheel resurfaced or replaced when the clutch was replaced. To fix any problem will required removing the transmission again. If you did that I would just get another clutch again since they only cost about 120 or so. Sorry.More Questions & Answers ...
