Depends on what you consider good. My wife has a CR-V and we have taken it to Cali and back to New England.-- Very reliable car, without many repairs.
-- Decent gas mileage, 25 mpg, on 89 octane.
-- The exterior style is good for the 1997-2001 models, and looks better on the 2002-2005 models.
-- The 1997-1998 lack power, but I think that they improved power for 1999-2001.
-- LOTS of Cargo room!
If you're into the 2002-2005 CR-V, you might want to consider the 2000+ RAV4. It has similar space, and reliability ratings, but is not ugly like the older RAV4.

hell yes, you are lucky. that is going to be my next carYes, it's great, my friend has the '07 and it's awsome, the milage is great, and it's her first car too, she loves it, My other friend has the '07 Rav4 and she thinks it's great, but likes the knew design on the CR-V.

Honda CRV's are good for a small SUV. Subaru Foresters are really good. Why do you want an SUV?for a first car i would recomend a car. SUVs cost more on insurance, they cost more to repair, imports cost more to repair, they are top heavy and roll easly. Get a small car, Civic, Neon, Escort, Focus, Accord, Camery, Corolla, if you find a good small car that would be better then a small SUV.

Great suv. What year are you thinking getting? Your'e lucky as many people here is saying. I worked on them many times. They are great vehicle. One downfall is the insurance are a bit more than a regular car as it is because its an suv. They hold their value too, dont expect to pay cheap as they are good vehicle. I hope this helps. it is a really good car but i dont think you should get a SUV yet because for me i really would actually think that the Honda Civic/Accord is a better choice because it has better miliage and it also lasts longer. but there are other good cars. if your not sticking with Honda then i advise you to get the Subaru Impreza for its large sedan space and crash rating along with the price which is around 18k for a basicYes because it has better mileage stlying and safety
If this is your first car, I'd recommend that you go to the dealers and have test-drives. You'll want to see whether you like the car's design (exterior and interior - espcecially at night) and whether you feel comfortable driving it. After all, it's gonna be with you for a long time. So take your time and choose wisely.

OK...I'm Prejudiced..if it says HONDA on the rear panel...it's a gr8 vehicle. Then it just comes down to wants, preferences, $$, saftey, etc. I went last year to look @ the CRV. Ended up with the ELEMENT, & never looked back!. If you absolutley have to have Leather & Carpeting, then the Element is not 4 u..those items are not available 4 this Vehicle. One thing I realllly like is that when I open the Back Door...there is no 'Post' in the way...Check it out..it's really cool. IO also bought one 'slightly' used..(2200 miles), so it was 'Honda Certified'...which means that in addition to the 36 month Warranty, beginning on MY day of Purchase....it also included an 'additional' 4 year Warranty on the 'Power Train'..i.e. Drive Train, Transmission, etc. So, yeah, you can't pry this Element out of my hands....lol. It does only hold four people, including the Driver, so that may not work for you. Oh, & it has the cool rear skylight...lol...LOVE this Car !!I have a 91 Accord EX, engine type F22A6. Does anyone know where I can find a turbo kit?
I would encourage U 2 take them both out 4 a 'test-drive. The Dealership may not have an Element....they sell as fast as they can make 'em. They are made in America..Ohio. So, don't let the lack of availability deter your decision. This is a Major decision 4 U & your parents...go slow...

All I can recommend you is that you show your parents the new Cr-V 2007, when they see it and when they go to a dealership to talk and hear all its characteristics, they will want one, believe me. Good Luck.I have a 2002 CR-V and it's been a great car. Right now, I have 96,000 miles on it and it drives like new. Mine is the basic LX model (FWD only) and I get 24-26 mpg.
They are safe cars, there's plenty of room for five, it's easy to drive (I'm teaching my 16-year-old daughter in it), the turning circle is incredibly tight, visibility out the front or back is good.
I could go on and on, but I'd certainly recommend it.
