Does the new v10 m5(BMW) engine fit inside a e36??

Question:
I want to do a engine transplant, I know the dangers of actually doing this.
Does anyone know if the new engine from the new shape m5 fits in the e36?

I'm sure that someone could do it. It's not a direct fit, it's going to take a lot of customization. I have seen V8 M5 engines in e36's though. So 2 more cyclinders might fit. The local BMW shop will probably tell you that it wont. You need to find someone that has done custom engine swaps for BMW's before. Why not the V8 M5 engine and add turbo/supercharger. I have seen the early 90's M5s reach 1000+ horsepower with turbo. WOW... that's all I can say.

I greatly doubt it. Its a much larger engine than what you got. It will also change the handling aspect of the car because you will have so much more wieght in the front end. If its a engine swap you want, you should go for a e46 M3 engine. Thats more than enough power for a e36. Good luck.
