Depends on you engines compression ratio. It would guess 87 octane should be fine due to it being a V6. If not, if should say to use higher octane by the gas cap. If you don't see anything there, READ YOUR OWNERS MANUAL. My Vette needs 90 or higher octane due to the compression. You could use any gas you want. Premium gives the car about 3 more horsepower because premium is better quality gas so it will burn better and make more power.Manufacterures tell you to put premium so you could get the best performance out of the car so you would be satisfied with it.
