Do all luxury cars have leather seats?
Car has a lot of miles? Do a compression check to see how much life is left on the engine. You will know then if you need to rebuild it for a turbo kit.And if your engine is fine there is no need to rebuild it unless you plan on doing more than 300hp.
The 420a(the engine in your 99 eclipse RS) has been proven to adequately handle 300hp on the stock bottom end, which is roughly where the Turbo Stage II kits put you at (280@flywheel).
Hahn RaceCraft (built the fastest RS eclipse) and Star Performance both make turbo kits.
On average you are looking at about $3000 for the turbo kit itself.
Also recently Slow Boy Racing put a turbo kit out for 420a and there's is slightly cheaper than HRC and Star. SBR usually have really good products.
Trying to decide between a BMW X3 and an Acura RDX?
first modify ur air intake manifold, use headers for exhaust pipe, ligthweigth your flywheel, change your cam gear, put torbo with intercooler, put up nos, change spark plug into platinum tip and more...How do I replace the air filter in my 2001 honda civic LX ? Thanks.?
Man u have many things u can put on ur car that will make if faster. u Have more aftermarket parts for ur car then my truck. U have cold air intake, turbo and many other things.like they said you have a whole host of after market parts that can be installed on your vehicle. try sites like turbonetics.com and such. you will see that your power level is just an object of how deep your pockets are and how fast you can afford to go. nice car by the way. good luck.
Go to the DSM forum sites and do some research. The 420A has potential, but isn't the engine to build for your eclipse. If you want to go really fast, sell the Rs and buy a Gs-t or Gs-x. The 4g63 has a LOT more potential than the 420A.
