I believe the book will tell you. Regular unleaded octane depends on what elevation you are in. Here in SLC, cheap is 85, whereas in Milwaukee, cheap is 87. I believe the book states 89. It's been a while, but the lower the octane, the easier it burns due to residual heat and pressure inside the cyl. The less the octane, the higher the probability for "spark knock" which is pre-ignition (very bad). With higher grade fuel, it will take more to ignite meaning it will be on the spark. Acura's engines are interference engines meaning the valves and piston share space (the reason to get your timing belt changed) at different times which gives the engine a higher compression (early detonation with heat and pressure). Hope that answers your question.

Do you like your Saturn (car not planet)?

the 01' 3.2 TL spec. on gasoline in 91 octane or higher. That engine was design to use the 91 octane for efficiency and horsepower and torques. if you use less than 91 octane. The performance horsepower will be less and torque will be less also. that would effect the acceleration of the car. And maybe less fuel efficiency. in the long run the less octane gas will hurt the engine itself.
