Question:
p.s. i recently bought a chip for my car and it tells me to connect it to the (IAT). Does this make sense? Also, where are my positive and negative battery terminals?
Answers:
Your "chip" is faking the computer by sending it a false colder air temp, which will make the mixture richer. It's a crude way to make more power. So yes, it does make sense. I'm curious why this "chip" didn't come with exact instructions. With your battery being all the way in the trunk, it's going to be hard to connect it to your battery.
What does it mean when the gas light blinks on a mercedes clk 320?
I believe it is in the intake manifold .If you remove the cover on top of intake ,it is positioned in the middle of intake. Its the only sensor mounted on the top of intake.Should take about 10 minutes to replace.IAT stands for intake air temperature sensor.First remove your engine cover then your intake manifold cover its a black sensor with 2 wires coming from it.Your negative terminal is the one that goes to the car body the other is the positive terminal.Having told you this i am afraid that you are going to cost yourself a lot of money it is better fitted by a professional.Best of all dont fit it at all BMW spend lots of money to get sensors operating correctley. If you are doing it to gain performance its a waste of money MIck UK work on Audi/BMWs
